Love that show. Talk about laying it on the line. Some of these guys show up w/up to 100k into their cars and then lose to a jaloppy.

If you want to beat this guy, don't drag race him, road race him. That is the only way you can beat him, by out driving him.

You can also make it a long distance race, more than a 1/4 mile.

My friend had a 95 stang with the 5L. I couldn't beat him the 1/4 mile, so we raced long distance. It ended up being who wanted it more. On a 30 mile trip, we split 2-2. Then we did the 1/8 mile, where he beat me by the front fender. That was to just see how the teg would hold up vs his stang. He was impressed so he bought his wife one.

If he does drive like an old lady, you should smoke him! Otherwise, forget about it!

I loved to brag to my best buddy how much faster my car was than his '97 3000GT (plain one with 165 hp and it weighed about eight zillion tons). I dusted him all the time even with his big 'ol V6. Nice looking car but mine much was faster.

Well he just bought a 06 infinity g35 coupe - 6-speed manual transmission,
3.5L dohc, 24 valve V6, 298 horsepower at 6,400 RPM, weighs 3449 lbs, with monster 18 inch wheels and great tires.

What can I do to my car to beat him? I know i need new tires but what else? He drives like an old lady and I drive like richard petty - so he can't take full advantage of the 6 speed, but that will only take me so far. Of course my teg is front wheel drive and his g35 is rear wheel drive. Can i make my car faster than his without spending 10 grand or putting nitrous in it?

Its a matter of pride.

Carolyn
turbo is the only way to go if you want to beat him.

no. a good shot of NO2 and she should be pretty even, the g35 is pretty heavy, it'll put down 200-250 to the wheels but weighs almost half a ton more.

This is what you need to do!
1. Sell the GSR
2. Buy G35
3. Race at the track not the street
4. Good luck
5. LOL

I've done that once at the pocono raceways. Winner gets free gas for the week.
Only exception is you can only fill up no more than 4 times for that week.
