Tach wire runs on AC voltage, not dc. It is usually a blue wire on the distributer. Or you can program the rs to check voltage. I have installed remote starts for about a year and 60 percent are on hondas. what kind of rs is it?

ya bro, just like claudio12472 said and as i did on your other post, the TACH wire looks for AC not 12v DC current. You need to test using AC, the wire will go up in AC voltage as the engine speed increase. Also, this wire does not just look for voltage to know when the car is running, it uses the tach wire to: 1. know when to stop cranking the starter and 2. if your RPMS go up or below the programmed amount, the rs system will shut down. btw, you if you cant find it on the distributor, you can get it off one of the injectors, while testing for AC.

holy shit i think i might have got it cuz i think it did just need to get a (+)12v signal and i went to the inside fuse box tested the starter signal one and it does just that. now the only way to no if it works rifht is to try it out BUT how do i get the car to do a cold start or wat ever it is that makes the car not start on the first attempt so i can see if it will make a second attempt at the start if it does not start on the first try

Pull off one of the plug wires and give it a go. It wont start, and the unit should try again.

Put the plug wire back on really really quick if you want it to run on the second attempt.
