Painting OEM Rims
I am painting these oem rims black because when my bro had this car..they started rusting. I know there already black but they faded out into a ugly black and i want a dark black. I know ill have to sand off the rust..and then just duplicor engine black paint? do i need to use black primer after? help me out and tell me if im doing this right. Click on one of the attachements to see the stock rims.

comon peoples help him out. im not a pro or anything but id say just get some steel wool for the rust. clr might work also. just remove the rust with clr, lightly sand the steelies down to give the paint something to grip onto. remember to take the tires off. unless you're gonna replace em. i've seen people rolling around town with painted rims and tires lol. if anybody else has any better suggestions dont hesitate to say something! gl man.

tape removal - 24 hours or soon after final coats??
hi all,
am I wrong, maybe clear is 24 HR but
i understand that the time to remove tape is as soon as the paint does not run any more (tack up). which is shorter than 24 HR
help?
thx

...just take a can of any flat black... cheapest is best for steelies... and just paint em... dont waste your time with steeelies.. trust me... i sharpied a lip on them.. with silver marker... and detailed em... not worth it h:
