What is up long time no post. I was wondering if any of you had a link to a website with the information of this conversion. My friend said he had stumbled upon but has since forgot where it was. Theres a company here in florida in sarasota thats offering the conversion for 3,500 to any car called braile. I looked up the post of some of you wanting the s2000 conversion. I like to do the b20 transmission because it will mount to any b series motor b16, b18, and so on. I know the rear lugs are totally diferent cause with the conversion you have to utilize 5 lug and you can use type-r hubs. I can get the b series CRV parts for cheap thats why i was wanting this info on the swap i am also a experianced welder and i have done a good amount of ls and b16 swaps.

 

What are you doing making a rear wheel drive civic or something? The CRV rear end wouldn't work very good. It's not a true RWD. Nor is it a true AWD.
It works more like a old suburu. It's a pump system that locks the wheel when it slips by using fluid pressure driven by an internal pump. You would be best off by using a true honda RWD. NSX, S2K is what I'd use but it's costly as you already know.

 

you can get ahold of a s2k rear end for real cheap if you look around for them. you will have to get custom axles and drive shaft fabbed up though

 

And chassis mounting points. Basically have to stiffen up and rebuild the whole rear of the car.

This man uses crv parts and does drift in the acura so this idea of the crv does work. The CRV parts are very easy for me to get. the s2k is a good idea, Its also already a true rear wheel drive setup. Then i think if the Crv parts have already been used and worked and withstand the abuse why not use them. You really have to think of the way im thinking about the situation. Im considering useing my resources to get alot of these parts for offering a conversion to the honda owner in my area that wishes the b series motor he has could be AWD or RWD. The s2k would be good if i was just considering my own personal car for a one time shot.

You need to find out how the other guy has set it up, he might have used CRV parts and then put other internals in or did something to make it a true RWD. I was just saying how the stock system works, which wouldn't seem like the ideal rear end to use to me. He has probably modifed it to work. Do you have a link or pictures? I'm interested if you got something.

i know this is a bit old and i really dont understand what you're trying to do. but arent crv trannies automatic? and no you're right they're not really awd or rwd, it's a 4wd application. and with any 4wd application you're gonna have to deal with locking hubs and often a viscous clutch. yes the clutch's that arent repairable. tell me if im wrong but viscous clutches are equiped with a fluid and when it heats up it shear's, which causes limited slip. err those things are headaches!
