B16 is great all around motor for the crx. I got the b18b though cause i love the torque and i want to go turbo. Totally B18c (1 or 5) if you got the $$$. As with any modification, think about what your objectives for your car are first.

An easier way to get more "always on" power i.e. more torque is to get a one of the higher displacing B series (i.e. a B18A or B18B or a B20) and then bore it, add a stroker kit and high compression pistons or any of the above. Actually any of the above will probably give you more low end torque than youll get out of the b16 with a supercharger.
