Default Whats Would You Pay?? (pics)

Well my friends been lookin for a reliable car thats quick and good on gas. My thought a older Civic with a swap or a Civic EX. I found a 1988 Civic 4door LX with a 92 SOHC EX engine.
Engine: Short ram intake with HKS filter, DC sports header, 2.25in cat back
Handling/braking: Sprint springs, cross drilled/slotted rotors behind stock 88-89 CRX SI wheels painted black.
Interior is stock with minor fade. Rear seat has a big rip on it. Got a CD player but no speakers and tach.
Sorry about this pic, the battery was dieing and i took it on the lowest setting.

Was a 1988 Civic LX sedan automatic, Now its a Civic EX 5speed (minus sunroof)
Hes asking $3000. Engines got 85,000miles, body has 124,000

What do you think??

Thats what I was thinking also, I hope he might go as low as $2200.

Hes getting rid of it because he started a detailing business and he bought a SUV. I dont see why he wouldnt sell it for cheap, unless he needs supplys

Do it; they're fun cars. I used to own one. It will be better with that good engine in there.

well clean title? Does he have papers for that engine? No rust?

honestly 3k is a good price for a 88 that is swapped and the car still has under 140k on it.

Cant hurt to give me a offer of 2 and let him think about it.

I would never pay over $1500 for any Civic that old unless it has a B-series swap. $3k is nuts IMHO.

For $3k, you could build an 84-87 that would walk all over that car.

i'd say no more than 2500, for a car that's probably been driven pretty hard by looking at it, also get proof if you can of how many miles are on the motor, might be higher than you think

I'm selling an '87 Civic Si for $750:naughty:

I'll be in Florida later this month, tooh:

But anyway, $1500 for an 85-87 CRX Si is a little overpriced too, unless it is in near perfect (no rust, great interior, new parts) condition.

I was thinking it was a little over priced. Its got lots of paint fade and some rips inside. Ya, they seem like they price there cars a little high.

My friends dad says that the cars too much, I just hope that they dont give up. They havent even called the guy and made an offer on the car. Its not going to go anywhere soon, it doesnt look good (took the 17's off) and no one would know whats powering it unless they stop.
