Default good not too loud exhaust?

I want an exhaust with good gains, but no loud droning on the highway. A little noise is ok, but the cheap thing on my car now drives me nuts. I've searched a little and seen some posts about Thermal, Greddy, APEXi and the regulars but not much about how loud it'll be. Any ideas? Or should I just get that RS-R JDM exhaust? Sorry about yet another exhaust thread.

i have a GReddy MX on my rex (well, it was on the dx which is getting sold, and going on the Si after paint) and i really like it - not too loud, not too buzzy, not too high-pitched, its just right IMO

go HKS like FGH, stock looking with after market gaisns...sound sick i just can;t afford it, plus i hear the cat-back exhaust on crxs' n civic hatchs like ours isn't much, if none performace wise any better then an axle back...

just go with an axel back

i will be getting the GReddy again. i had it before, and it was great. sound was loud, but not too loud. and it being stainless with good bends was nice too.. it should last a long time..

im partial to the GReddy, but i would get anything is stainless steel... cause it should last longer.... hope that helps

i think hes asking more for brands than what kind. and we're not trying to talk him into a cat-back or not, just telling him which brands we think are quiet.

My HKS Sport is quiet. All the kids at school tell me I need to get a cat-back and I tell them that is a cat-back. So it looks very stock.
