Default 88 CRX wiring

Need to know what wiring differences there are between a 1988 CRX and 1990 CRX as far as engine harness to the ECU.

Have a B16 from a 1990 CRX, but the white plug on the drivers side is round on the engine harness and square on the car harness. The B16 ran in the 1990 CRX, but doesn't start in the 1988 due to no spark signal from the ECU. I also get codes 1 for the O2 and 6 for engine coolant temp, both should let the car start. The 1990 CRX didn't have any codes that I know of. I have tested the coild and ing. module, both are good. swapped a known good distributor and still no start. The ECU is a PR3.

I know this swap has been done and I couldn't find any help searching.

Thanks in advance for any help.

there is no difference in wiring harnesses from year to year, only model to model - all 88-91 HF's have same harness, all 88-91 DX's have same harness and all 88-91 Si's have same harness - HF harness is not the same as DX or Si - DX is not the same as HF or Si and Si is not the same as DX or HF - when doing swap, you need the engine wiring harness that matches your model of car - you can't pull an engine and harness from Si and put it into DX or HF - if your car is a DX, you need to use a DX engine harness and make the DPFI to MPFI wiring changes
