worst? eCU blown.

check your fuses all over though, under the kicks and in the engine bay.

ok, guys...some good news: i found a broken fuse under the hood. i replaced it and i now have power. she even started! now the bad news: after starting it up, the engine ran super high. my idle sounded like i was doing 30. also, a large amount of white smoke flew out the exhaust. ??? i turned it off and waited a minute, then tried again. same thing. i quickly turned it off again. so what did i do now? could the alternator belt have something to do with this? as i mentioned earlier, i'm not sure about how tight it is. i just made sure it was good and taut. how can i make sure it's right? anything else to check? should i try driving it? thanks again, folks...you've been a huge help. and remember: rookie mistakes come mainly from rookies.

Sounds like your electricals are roasted. Alt belt tension shouldn't do that.

White smoke sounds like water or coolant in the engine.

Start first by adjusting your idle down to a sane level. Smoke from the rear isn't an immediate concern unless it never stops.
