here is top veiw of the problem.. i really dont think the engine bay is clean.. pullin the motor out in about 2 months to get rebuilt.. 
and it should look brand new when im done with it.. hopefully if everything works out good..

haaa.... unscrew the the hose clamp holding the tube to the trottle body and rotate it back till the tube bump rotates back a bit.
P.S. Looks like it fits to me. Just covers a bit of the battery.

and yes this rex was a good find but she needs boddy work.. whole front end looks like crap.. i mean it all in one peice was dented here and there.. nothing a new hood and quarter panels and some paint cant fix..
