Default 91 civic si w/d16z6 swap?

My friend did this swap into his civic hatch si...he rebuild the d16 and its stock..he has intake headers and exhaust...my question is what do they run at the track? i think there is something wrong with his becaue his best time was a mid 16.....and on one run he pulled an 18..somethign happen and we cant figure out what...same R/T's on all 3 runs...he said it feels strong of course compared to his old motor that was crapping out...but i think there is something wrong because i think it should do better than mid 16's...what are your thoughs? i'm not a civic guy so im clueless.

headers?.......is it a V4?......i thought L4 came with one header. but mid-low 16's is best that motor will do unless boosted or fully built.

mid to low 16's? what does the a 95 civic do? the vtec one...at the track? does it do higher then that? i would think so right since the civic si hatch is less weight? yess full interior.

i got a 94 ex, same motor, the best i ran was a 16.3 and that is with header, new clutch, cat back, hi flow cat, cam gear(retarded 1), cai, and short shifter.

Stock 92-95 d16z6 runs 16.79 avg. 1/4 mile

all stock.....a D16Z6 can run 15.75-15.80 into a crx! thats what i have and when the engine was in his original 95 civic ....it ran a 15.95...(paper to proove it!)..so....for sure it can do something pretty better into a 88-91 civic/crx.

???? i have a friend with the stock d16a6 motor with intake, header, exhuast, MSD.. he ran a 15.63 on the stock motor... this was in a 91 CRX si with the stock motor... paper to prove it!! so i think a z6 running perfect could be mid-low 15's with intake, header, exhaust in a CRX or 4th gen Civic hatch.

What was his 60' time? You can have a good reaction time and still be a crappy launch.

Why is the Honda Inline 4 called and L4 instead of an I4?
