Default 2nd gen integra trans compatibility with b16

will the b series trans from the 2gen integra work with the b16. I know same series engine works with same series trans but I saw a couple 2gen tegs at the yard with the trans and I noticed a b16 engine is not that expensive without its trans. Would the axles and ecu from the teg work too. one was a 92 and one was a 93.

your question is confusing...what car do you have, what engine you want to put the 92/92 teg tranny on (b16a what series)...i'm also not sure why you want to use a teg ecu if you already have a b16a and ecu (they are designed to work together)

all b series trannies should bolt up to each other

however it also depends on what size the mainshaft spline is...you'll have to have the correct flywheel/clutch/pressureplate that'll work with that tranny...any b series flywheel will bolt up to the engine so you can plan accordingly

also...all 2g tegs came with cable trannies and all efs are cable tranny

as for the axles all working across the range...i'm not sure about that one...you don't want to use a non vtec ecu on a vtec engine b/c it won't activate vtec...but hope this gets you in the right direction

of note:...when buying from a junkyard you get only a 30 day gaurantee so make sure when you buy something you use it to see if it works (they usually will replace it if it doesn't)

sorry for the confusion I was going to order a b16a1 in the future and I was trying to save some money by getting b series parts like the trans and axles and such from the junkyard. I know I'm being cheap but I thought it would be worth a try. the trans is only $50 and axles are 18 bucks apiece and ecu is 11 bucks. I figured that to be better then spending an extra 600 for that stuff with the engine, plus the money I save could be used for the mount kit.

the teg computer will not work let VTEC work with your b16.. you need a b16 ECU or one from a VTEC b-series

a word of advice...always buy the whole engine/tranny/ecu package...it's much cheaper and you'll get better parts...especially a b16a1...they come with the s1/j1 trannies that are better geared for acceleration than a teg tranny (b18s have more torque)...you can find a whole engine package for around $1,200 if you look hard enough...they will also come with startup guarantees and the shop should have done proper compression/leakdown tests...a whole setup also comes with the intermediate shaft

i wouldn't waste time with junkyard parts...especially a tranny (unless you plan on rebuilding it)

as for axles...decide on what mount kit you want (hcp or hasport) and they give advice on what axles you'll need
