Default is it worth it?

My friend just hydro-locked his 97 civic ex...but the thing is he only ****ed up the bottom end of the block...

my cousin grabbed the head because it still ran good and is great shape... he said we should swap it onto my car, but imma need a intake manifold and a distirbutor...and wiring which i can get from i guy i know a JE performace ( a swap place near me)...

do u think its worth it? or should i not even waste my time and money?

let me know...

also what HP gain can i get from port and polish? thanks

If you could get the intake manifold and all that junk from that same guy. But if you have to pay a lot for it screw that. It will probably only giving you like 12hp more. And if it costs you $300 then its not worth it.

I don't think P&P helps that much unless your engine is highly tuned. Plus remember you will definitely need a new head gasket... $60 and timing belt... $60 so that is at least $120 you gotta spend.

little more than 12 hp, stock si 108, stock 97 ex, 127 give or take 3. if you get the correct ecu it should work fine. but your best bet is to go with a z6 head and bolt it on your block. y8 will give you more compression than z6. i believe its like z6 = 10:1 and y8 = 11:1 or something around there with the a6 block. its all up to you weather you want a project to work on, let me tell you its an experience to change the head.

Check this out if you want to do that head swap.
http://crx.honda-perf.org/articles/m...oreminime.html

If you're on a budget you can do the mini me swap, buy a T3 turbo, exhaust manifold, fmu, and intercooler for about $1500 less than a B16 swap. Everyone's got a B16 now, I'd rather have boost.
