Default ECR IAT Sensor & Engine dies randomly - help

CRX Si 1988 (stock)

Signs - ECR is reporting IAT sensor (10 blinks)
Symptoms - Engine dies while driving.

So far has only died on the freeway and on main streets while on the move. Engine is warm and ambient temp is hot/warm. Seems to idol smoothly. Electrical (radio, lights) remains on when engine dies. Does not stutter just dies abruptly.

The problem just seemed to appear after I replaced both upper and lower radiator hoses for unknown leaking problem. (this seem to correct the leaking problem.) I had to partially remove the radiator fan and some the air intake ducting to reach the lower radiator hose.

Could I have broken something or knocked something loose that would cause this (vacuum hose etc?) Could the IAT sensor ECR code be related to the engine dieing?

Where is the IAT sensor on this car?

thanks

It is mounted on the intake manifold, held on by two screws. The screws tend to freeze with age, so it can be a pain to remove. Chilton's lists an in-spec IAT sensor at 1k to 4k ohms at room temperature, if out of spec, replace. You should be able to get one from a junkyard for a few dollars.

Could this cause the problems described?

Probably not, but it doesn't hurt to try the easy/cheap stuff first. It could be a bad ECU, not likely, but it could be.

Are there any important vacuum lines that are near the front passenger side of the engine compartment that could be knocked that are around the lower radiator hose, radiator fan or AC fan?

Engine dying is usually EACV. Must be the summer heat or something, because this question is popping up everyday.
