its your throtlle cable(switch)...opens up throttle body as you give it gas.

Its the dashpot. You will notice when the car is cold you can pop the hood and see the arm on that thing press your throttle rotor so your idle is higher and it does that until the car warms up. Keeps it from stalling out when you are driving before its warmed up.

Dashpots are not that important if you have no power-sucking, idle dropping accessories like AC. I ripped both dashpots off of my Civic and it still starts and runs just peachy.

Mine would die at stop lights before it was warmed up so I bought a new one. Hasn't died since then.

i dont believe that is to the dashpot? i have to take a look at my old b16 but on all the dseries engines that goes to the mapp sensor, the dashpot normally connects onto the back of the intake manifold and on some dseries engines doesnt connect to nething at all. not entirely sure of the bseries and its vacume hoses, but ill check it out tonight

No the Dashpot is bolted to the Throttle Body and has one hose coming off that goes to the intake manifold. I just ordered a new one less than a month ago and Dashpot is what it is listed as being called. The Map sensor connects to the male plug sticking out of the throttle body.
