Strange Burning Smell
I've got this strange burning smell ever since my tranny
got replaced in my 1991 civic SE HB.
Doesn't smell like rotten eggs. Smell's like burnt oil or
something.
There was alot of oil and gunk on the engine, so I took
a degreaser to it, hoping that would solve it. It
didn't work and the smell is still there. I can't see any
leaks from the top, or on the driveway.
It's driving me nuts... It seems to get stronger when
I run the fan.
Could it be the clutch or something?
Does anyone have any suggestions?

How long has it been since you degreased it. It may take a little time to burn crude off of exhaust. They may have gotten oil all over your exhaust when they changed the tranny too.
