Hey, I thought you couldn't get a new head... I'm gonna have a spare z6 head, just cleaned out real well, I'll also have a spare z6 intake manifold complete that you'll need for the mpfi conversion, all you'll need is a valve cover, and a PM6, and to run like 6 wires, including an rpm switch, and later I'll chip your ecu to work with everything you've got...

Keep in mind the Z6 is OBD-I and Y8 is OBD-II. So you will have some wiring to do. I know you can use A6 injectors and distributor but I have also heard that the distibutor timing has to be adjusted a whole lot, possibly as far as it can go just to run right. Not sure if that is true or not.

not true, either have the 2 side bolts with big washers holding it on, or the bolt closest to the front end on and the top bolt with big washer connected, it works either way.... the z6 has about ~20-22 more hp and it has a better torque curve. the mini-me swap is not as easy as it sounds... it would be easier just to do a motor swap... be sure to have ALL the tools, sockets, screwdrivers in handy and keep track of them! (took about 3-4 hours of our time looking for parts) and get a new intake mani gasket... and maybe exhaust mani gasket depends on how good its in. overall it took me and 2 other friends 10 hours to do it ourselves.... 3-4 hours with trying to find tools, 1 hour for parts (napa gave me wrong gaskets).... good luck.

Some people try to claim a VTEC-E head (D15Z1) can be used to make a mini-me, but that is not correct as the VTEC-E system works differently then a standard VTEC system.
You look that up in the Webster dictionary? :chuckles:
I can't find it, maybe my edition is a little dated.
