Default Is carbon fiber worth it?

Do you think carbon fiber is worth the cost? I am thinking about getting a carbon fiber hood, taillights, rear spoiler, and mirrors. For the cost, is it worth the weight reduction(which i heard doesnt even save much weight at all.) Or is carbon fiber mainly for the "ha i got money" look.

Well, if your a pro racer, and a tenth of a second can mean the difference between first and second, then the reduced weight of Carbon fiber products are worth it. But if it's for your car that you drive everyday, it's not going to make much of a difference. But it definitely looks sweet. So I guess it's up to you.

"worth it" is really a question of your budget. For me, being a broke college student, carbon fiber isn't worth it. If I was going to spend 500 bucks on my CRX, I'd put it into the suspension. But, for someone making a strong 40K or more a year with no family costs, 500 bucks on a hood is nothing, and that reduction in weight just might help a bit after the car is tuned to its max for whatever its purpose is.

put that money that you would use on the hood in the engine instead. it would make more of a difference.

I paid $440 for my CF hood, my ZC engine swap was $450. So put that in perspective. However my hood weighs about half that of stock.
