Sh*t! I lost my key.
I just lost the only key I had to my 88 Civic Hatchback. Does Honda keep key records that old, or do I have to have all my locks and ignition replaced?

I don't think they keep records for that year, but what you can do is this...
Remove the lock cylinder for the glove box, should be 1 or 2 screws. Take that into honda, it should have the key code for the car and they can cut a key off that.

The Honda dealership should still have it on file. We had to get a key made for my cousin's 89 hatch and we brought the title and proof of ownership of the car to the dealership and they cut one right there for us.

They make the keys from the VIN#, 1981 or 2001, it dont matter. Dont replace your locks, you know how much that costs? LMAO
Just bring proof of ownership & some ID. keys should be about $6.00 a piece.

I knew replacing all the locks would probubly cost more than the car. I called my friend who works at the Honda Dealership. He looked up the VIN and lucky for me the key code was still one file. He made me two keys and he also wrote down the key code for me, incase it gets erased between now and the next time I lose them. Now I owe him one.
