89-91si ecu better then 88s
I might be wrong but is it true the 88 si had 105 hp and the 89-91s had 108, and if its true was it just the ecu programming that made the change.

I'm not positive about the HP figures, but I do knowthat the 90-91 si ecu's are mapped more aggressively for fuel then the 88-89's. And I do believe the 89 is a tad better then the 88, but not by much.

Theoretically yes,
the 90-91 ecus have a different program chip, and when you look at the actual board inside, they look different. 88 and 89 have a 40 pin program chip that also executes the program, the 90 and 91 havea 28 pin program chip...
