Default Thermo/fan switch intall help

I've got an 89 crx with a B16A1 swapped into it. I've got the mugen thermostat and fan switch. I'm having a problem locating the fan (or as some call thermo) switch. According to the chiltons wiring diagrams the switch is under the vtec solenoid, and the plug even fits; but they are different parts. I was told the fan switch is underneath the intake manifold, near the thermostat housing. however, under the intake manifold i can only locate the knock sensor. Could anyone help me identify where the fan switch would be? i'm at a loss. thanks guys

The Thermosensor (thing that tells the fans to come on) is under the intake manifold, it has 2 "stacked" male prongs on it and I'm sure you will see 2 female plugs plugged into it. It is right next to another sensor with only one prong on it. It's on the back of the engine block.

It has a boot around it with a yellow wire and a black wiring going into it.

What is that picture with the mugen plug? Cuz the thermosensor I'm pretty sure just has 2 loose female connectors that plug into it, not an entire wire harness. If that is the fan switch in that picture then ok, but I don't think that looks at all like the themoswitch that I know of. Unless B-series are different.

that mugen plug is the fan switch i have. see i will have to splice off those wires and use the universal plug for honda. like the knock sensor, vtec pressure sensure, all that has the same plug. also same plug that a sensor on the manifold uses. ill just have to take those 2 wires and adapt them to the other plug..but that is definately the fan swtich?

I started using OEM filters recently, they a much better and even cheaper than the Frams at the auto parts store.

whoa. so thats where the thermoswitch is on b16a sir1. i put a sir1 motor in my civic. wired everything up, and didnt kno where the thermoswitch was. i bought the thermostat cover from a obd1 b16a that had a hole for the thermoswtich.

the motor had been converted to obd1 spec, except for the vtec solenoid plug and the fan thermoswitch
