Default Recommded CAI for B16 CRX?!

I swear I've read this somewhere where most guys are using Honda Civic SiR (DOHC 99-01) CAI for their B16 transplanted CRX's. I've tried the search but didn't find anything to support this. I believe the reasoning was due to larger diameter pipe 2.75" vs 2.50".

Can anyone attest to this?

Thanks!

Place Racing makes a cold air intake specially built for B16/B18 CRX's.

You can use AEM's from a 92-95 as well as Injen's. I believe injen's are 3" and AEM's are 2.25. Could be wrong about the AEM, but I used to have an Injen and can confirm it's diameter.

You might have to chop up the hole going into the wheel-well though if you go w/a 3"er. I"m not sure how big it is off hand.

EDIT: Forgot to add, you might have to hacksaw the 92-95 to make it fit (not sure how long it is). There's a pic of one someone put up from a different forum. It's not attached to a b16, but for purposes that it works....it's from a parts car...oh yeah, you'll have to relocate the battery to the rear to do this.

BTW...the guy confirmed that it's 2.25" so you'll definately have to hack up that hole if you want a 3"er.

Thanks for the pics WhiteRice! The guy who originally did the swap already relocated the battery to the back. The short ram intake that I have is an ugly yellow so replacing that with a CAI would be a nice upgrade!

AwwsChwA - Are there pics of the Place Racing intake? Their site is down at the moment.

Thanks guys!
