i was doing some random **** to my engine today and i was pulling the throttle by hand, and my engine really moves back towards the cockpit area or whatever u call it....

looks like the very front motor mount could be loose or something... or old?

any one have a fairly new one or know how much they run?

im afraid to call honda dealer becuase i call them everyday just weondering what prices are for some parts

All 3 new mounts for my engine was around $110 from Honda.

$110 for 3 mounts, damn thats good. But there are 4 mounts, or was your 4th in fine condition?

I had to replace one of the mounts on the wife's 1996 Civic. Long story, but somehow, changing the belts degenerated into a bout with an air hammer.
In any case, the bill for all three drive belts (PS,AC, alt) and the motor mount was $53...I seem to remember the mount being about $35 or so. Heh, local dealer wanted in the high forties for the mount alone...list was 42 or so...go figure...stealerships...

I just looked on hondautomotiveparts.com and mounts are almost $50 each.

h: Oh yeah, my 1st gen CRX only has 3 mounts and I got them at jobber cost....
If they're in real bad shape, the could start breaking apart, and then you'd really have yourself in a pickle.

my car shifts really hard, and really fast i think i may haev a broken mout.also when im in P and put in a R the egine moves alot.

When I had a mount break in my (formerly my) '92 Integra, the only symptom was shaking, not the engine, the entire car. If you have a broken motor mount, it's usually pretty obvious. Remember, we only think that $110 for a few mounts is a great deal because places like HASport charge out the ass for swap mount kits.

you could also try polyurethane inserts in the motor mounts if they are not torn apart ($12 for a set)
