test drove a crx today
well after months of searching for a crx si for cheap and in good condition i found one 10mi from my house. guy wants $1800 for it. its got new timing belt,waterpump,tires,clutch, left and right axles, new radator hose, new coolant installed, and other misc exteror items. has 179k mostly all highway. when i got in the car its a world of a diffrence compared to my former 90 lx accord. my accord is big and sluggish compared to the light and nimble/responsive rex. car is preety quick. has rust in the usual spots but its not thru which is good, some sand blasting will take care of it.needs a lil cleaning inside and it should be fine. just wanted to let you all know of my new discovery. ill let u know when its in my hands. i need to get some hatch struts cause they dont keep up. so what do u all think of the price?

i paid $2000 for my 91 crx si, (139,000miles) about 3 months ago. I put on new rotors and pads, water pump and timing belt, left side axel seal,and other little ****. And a new thermo..
interior is pretty much to perfect, even had the rare jdm arm rest.
exterior had its normal rust, and some rust bubbles u can;t notice on the sun roof.
Runs great! and i have a b&m short shifter on it, tenzo exhaust, and then ky agx's coming, and eibach prokit, and aem short ram intake.
i tryed talking the guy down some more $$ but he was stuck on $2000
you could get that crx for $1500 or lower.

Well, Kelly Blue Book for a 1989 CRX Si in "good" condition as you describe with 179k miles lists for $2165, so $1800 sounds OK. You can probably work it down to $1500 if you b*tch about the rust and high milage.

well he just put in a new axle last night. the car was being auctioned but the last buyer flaked out, so i lucked out cause he said it was sold, so its back to me now. im ok on the rust, coming from hooking up toyotas and dealing with there rust problems, this is cake. the car runs good and i cant wait till its in my hands.

hey katejetta4, did u just get that rex? if so did u get it from md? i was looking at one jus like that, that was down there same color, they wanted close to 3k for it i was like they can keep it. i love that color, and the wheels on that 91. it was at sum auction place. it was on ebay.
