Well the number stands for their displacement, B16=1.6 and so on.
B16As are DOHC VTEC, B18s come in both DOHC (B18A and B) and DOHC VTEC (B18C), and all B20s are DOHC without VTEC.
B16A and B18C are performance engines really, they rev high to make their power. The non-VTEC B18 is usually the top choice to Turbo because it's low compresson. And B20 is the obvious choice if you want Torque, but it has ****ty high end.

all these swaps are pretty much the same as far as how hard they are except the VTEC motors need 4 wires added for VTEC and more than that if u have a DX for the 2 extra injectors
