Default Distributor&ECU ?s

Will the ecu throw codes when things are starting to go bad or will it wait till its to late. My car is running almost perfectly but has some glitches which may be timing related. Some mornings It starts right up first click then other morning it takes a few cranks. Sometimes it seems real strong and pulls hard in all gears and other times it seems to run strong and then stronger as if it had vetech j/k. But seriously its warm this weekend low 60s so I would like to change whatever I can or do whatever.

The ECU won't throw any codes at you, till something goes wrong.

So are you saying that at times it doesn't seem like there's a spark? Do the regular dizzy checks (cap, rotor, ignitor, plugs, wires, etc)

Previous answer might help

I'm not sure exactly how to check it. It takes a voltage meter, which I don't have. Let me know if you need more help. I'll walk you through how to change it.
