Default 89 civic LX not startin'

I went out tonight to start the car to jump my friend's Toyota and I cranked it up and it started to crank and turned over and died. Then I wait a few secs and turn the key. I hear the starter motor turn again only this time a bit faster. So I try it a couple of more times then just decided to use the other car. Now I think that the starter motor came loose and needs to be rebolted. Give me some feedback on this. The motor is not turning at all, but the starter motor spins.

Thanks,
Falkon

OK! after about 15 sec of constant cranking i got the car started! Now! I'm getting a white smoke coming from my tailpipe. Could this be the head gasket? I don't notice a considerable loss in power. Could it be fuel ratios? The smoke is not dense. It is almost like when you see smoke coming out because of the condensation in the tailpipe, but it continues even when the car is warmed up. I haven't been able to check if it overheats yet.

Plz someone give me an answer,
Falkon
