Keep hitting w/the impact gun. Get some PB Blaster to help loosen it up a bit.

Nope, the bolt is regular threaded... do you have a decent impact wrench or just a cheapy?

is the engine in the car or on a pallet or engine stand?

if its on the pallet...remove the tranny and clutch...take wrench and bolt it into the flywheel using a flywheel bolt...then take a tranny bolt and move the flywheel up so the other side of the wrench will get stuck there...that create sufficient hold to work there

if the engines in the car then remove the tranny is too hard so take off the starter and stick a screwdriver end (standard) into where the starter teeth and flywheel touch...it'll get in there and won't let it turn

I also had a lot of trouble with mine, but once I put a descent 1/2 inch impact wrench on it it let go with no fuss at all, and that's after 13 winters in Minnesota... Get a descent tool, or borrow one, and you'll be fine...

take off the flywheel cover, and slide a screw driver in between the flywheel and tranny housing. Then hit it with a big breaker bar... Works every time for me.

3 ft breaker bar with a 4 ft pole on it, hang my skinny ass on it, and you make more than any impact wrench!

Buy or borrow a high tq. impact, A big breaker bar will just split sockets. I had the same problem, I bought a 100 dollar impact and it was a piece of ****. Spent 200 dollars on a better one, now everything's gravy.
