Default 88 Honda Civic LX Auto Tranny Problems

I think the tranny is starting to go out. it shifts up ok, but seems kinda rough when slowing down. Also vibrates when stopped with it in gear. I'm guessing i'm probably going to need to replace the tranny. it's got 203k miles on it. If it does sound like the transmission needs replaced do any of you know of any good places to get a replacement for fairly cheap. I really know very little about transmission, but if it matters I would rather have one that gets better mpg then higher performance.

Thanks

Chris

I was told by someone one honda-tech.com that it might be a stall converter. Is that the same as a torque converter? if so doesn't that involve removing the transmission to replace? and is there anyway to test if that is the problem before removing the tranny?
