1) If you're referring to modified automatic transmissions, they're designed for use with motors producing much more horsepower than your stock motor. And as far as I know, there are no such transmissions available for the D-series motor in your car.

2) Kragen, Auto Zone, all of the usual auto parts stores. You'll need to know a bit of wiring and be handy with tools, but it's not an impossible job.

build the tranny to take the given hp and torque hence you will need a professional to take the tranny apart and put in a performance torque convertor.
