Default Clutch Cable Stretched?

I have a 91 CRX si with stock engine and transmission. I just put in a ne Exedy clutch kit etc. and my clutch cable has to be turned as low as possible to get the proper dis-engagment. It was this way before the fix. Is it stretched?

it might be or the part where it attaches to the pedal/cable is bending.

Checked bracket, it is not bent or bending.

Possibly, the bolt that holds the throwout bearing fork is not torqued correctly (too loose).

When the clutch cable is properly adjusted and nothing is touching the clutch pedal, there should be a little play in the throwout bearing lever. (no play = driving around with your foot partially on the clutch pedal)

Default Checked Bolt

Ok, checked all the associated bolts. Everyting is tight and torqued to proper specs. Any other ideas? All thoughts are welcome and appreciated.

Default Yes

And yes, I dropped the transmission again just to check all of the bolts inside the bell housing. Actually I've gotten rather good at this and can have that tranny out in less than 45 minutes by myself. Amazing what air tools and a tranny jack can do for you.

Default Thanks for the help.

Ok, took the cable out and took it to the zone. Compared it to new cable and it had actually stretched almost 1 1/2" from its original length. New cable fixed it. By the way it was a LUK brand cable (same as the original) and cost me $17.99 + tax. Thanks everyone for the input.:yay:
