I have a 90 CRX Si that was boggin on me at mid range rpms, and smooth on low and highs. It died when I test drove it in the middle of an intersection before I bought it rofl pretty sure the previous owner got a bunch of camera tickets XD One of the distributer pieces were broken. After that was replaced it runs like a champ! ...Only to find new problems :P

as for the bouncing at low RPM's, my roommate had a ZC swap done to his 90 CRX and it was redlining at 3200 RPM (in gear and in neutral). Turned out it was a 5 min fix. the wire for the camshaft position sensor was not crimped and had come loose. Also, I have heard of other civic doing this and the only in neutral thing when their cam pos sensors are going out.
