car too loud... best way to quiet it down?
i did a head swap which gave me 8 more valves... which surprisingly enough made it alot louder. and now its just too loud and sounds like crap
i have a header going to 2.5" pipe to a magnaflow muffler.
and yes.. i know i dont have a catalytic converter.. but ill put one on if it will
keep it from sounding like crap you can hear a 15 blocks down.
but other than a cat... any other suggestions?
i heard about pinch pipeing... where they pinch the exhaust pipe at points to make it quieter. :hsdunno:

Does your B-pipe have a resonator, or is it straight piped? I cut mine out and straight piped it cause it was coming apart inside; sounded like an aluminum can in there. I noticed the exhaust got a little louder, but not too much.
If you're like me, and don't like the big fart cans, I plan on doing a whole custom system. I'll probably go with a 2 1/4 or 2 1/2 inch piping with a high-flow cat, magnaflow round muffler for the resonator in the b-pipe section, and a 1 inlet/ 2 outlet magnaflow for the rear section so that the visible tailpipes appear stock.
The goal is reduced backpressure, quiet, and appearing stock.
Hope that gives you some ideas on possibilities

i got an ebay header to custom 2.5" piping all the way to my magnaflow
sounds like shee-yat after i swapped to a head with 8 more valves
and i too hate fart cans...
i bought a 16" resonator... and gonna put that on... see how that works... and then probably go to a high flow cat after that
