oh man... i have some work to do then. now that i have a tach i assume that if it drops below 1000 it's doing to die...

the idle is not steady at all, varie from 1000-1500, and it likes to die alot. the car, when started cold, will not stay runnin unless i give it gas. the car heats to just below the red hot mark, then cools itself down to the middle of the temp gauge. I think it'll run better after the oil gets changed (tomorrow) but i still need to figure out wtf is going on withthe idle.... open to suggestions.

Also... i was messing witht he headlights, and i removed the dash panel underneath the steering column... theres a small black box with about 6 wires going into it, and a hole in the front that is visible when the panel's on... any idea what this is?

Ever figure out all of the vac lines? that might screw with it a lot... or maybe you need a carb rebuild?

Sounds like the thing that beeps when you leave the key in the ignition.

Ah, that may be it... hehe...

Yeah, i did get all the vac lines hooked up, and got a new carb plate (the part that the carb bolts to) since it was cracked.

i was messin with the engine last night, trying to lean it out... I'm pretty sure i found the right screw (right on the top of the carb, by the fuel line... when i screwed it in ALL the way, gas started coming out around the screw.. heh..)

ANyone know which way is lean/rich? I think that's why it doesnt like to idle, flooding itself out...

Are you talking about the little screw on top on the side near the H-shaped little fuel sight glass? That screw sets the float bowl level. I don't remember any screws near the fuel line that did anything...

You know where the 2 bolts are that hold the screen on? it's a flat head screw about an inch to the right, on the right side.

You need to get on AIM so we can talk =P
