Default clutch

alrite i was driving home from work today and something happened... i was going fine down the road in 5th gear until the car in front of me started to slow down to turn.. i pushed in the clutch and just coasted for a sec till he turned... when i started to let out the clutch to start goin again it was weird.. the friction point was a lot closer to the floor and after the clutch seemed fully engaged and i was letting the pedal out the rest of the way the pedal gave me a grinding vibration type feel... now it does this all ther time... the friction point is like a half an inch from the floor and the clutch just seems really loose.. does anyone know what happened????

humm all of a sudden then bam it isnt the same..
well the best thing is to stop driving it so if theres more than just the clutch thats bad u dont mess it up also.
is it grinding and vibrating when u let it out or just vibrating. possible a broken spring on the clutch disk.
i assume ur car is a stock car what model. si hf dx
any history on the car before u got it.

any way u look at it probaly have to yard the trans out. what state u live in.

Check the external things first before removing the tranny and checking the clutch disk itself. For example, check the clutch cable mounting point at the firewall to be sure it's not broken, and also, check the clutch pedal pivot point to be sure it's not broken. Also, try adjusting the cable at the tranny.

If it's not what i said, it is more than likely a broken clutch disk spring like posted above, which will require dropping the tranny and replacing the clutch disk ,pressure plate, throwout and pilot bearing. A clutch kit can be bought for around 150 bucks. It's the labor that will cost you if you can't do it yourself.
