Default B16A Motor Mounts

Does the stock front motor mount work/bolt up with the B16?

I dont have a front mount, and I want one.

Anyone? I got the car and not only did it have no mount, but the front crossmember was all hacked up to fit a 4-1 header.

I replaced the header with a stocl manifold and got a new front crossmember.

Now I am trying to find out if the stock mount will bolt up to my B16

Wow... This Forum is dead...

Lame

I found one aftermarket (inovative mounts), but its 125$....

I would rather find out if the stock mount will fit with little or no modification.

I can get one for 25$........

Why do you need it? Aftermarket mounts eliminate it and work just fine without it. Not only that, I doubt that a front mount will even be compatible with the stock crossmember.

It looks possible... And why would it not work with the stock crossmember when they sell aftermarket mounts that mount to the (stock) crossmember?

Have you done this?

You mean the stock d16 motor mount up front? Nope. The b16s front mount is much larger in comparison to the d16s, so the bolt holes on the engine side won't line up with d16's mount itself. Hacking of the front crossmember is common to fit b series engines i that little engine bay, although I didn't need to hack mine at all. I think you can buy and aftermarket front crossmember to replace the stock one.

I doubt it seeing as most B16 swaps don't use a front mount. If the stock one fit, everyone would use it.

i'm not sure why swap kits come with just the three mounts. i think maybe to make the installation easier, cause the mount on the stock crossmember sits off center from the b16 engine mount.
i've been wanting to use a fourth mount also, so i have been looking for a new crossmemeber made with a b16 mount. i've found a couple, but they been expensive.
