classic symptoms of a bad pilot bearing

Its all good.

I talked to a few local shops. And I put the car up on stands and messed with it.

Turns out, everyone is 99.8 % sure its my pilot bearing, I had my buddy look at it and when we put it up, and turned the car on, the wheels slowly started to spin... So yea

Thanks for all the good info again!

5$ Pilot bearing at the local parts store tomarrow should fix it.

I had this thing all apart once.. Now I have to tear into it again! GRRRR....

Oh well, Im a pro at it now ;-)

So.................

Turns out the pilot Bearing is fine...

This was the problem :

...... Yeah, so... New clutch is on its way.....

Only thing that it did to my flywheel was shave a small spot off of each flywheel bolt head (nothing to worry about).

So... What would cause this? Is it just a faulty clutch disk?

It has no part numbers on the disk, The pressure plate is ACT, but im not sure if this disk is ACT or not?

The one that I found online from ACT has 6 springs. this one has 4....

So...

Any ideas?

That could certainly cause the problem I've seen a handful of disks let go like that when they get near the end of their life. May be from abuse (dumping clutch) or that's just what decided to let loose first. I'm not sure it's that uncommon. That disk looks like it has a few miles on it.

Disk looks very OEM... but who knows.

So silly question... but you didn't notice that "missing" spring when you ripped it apart (post #1) ?? Just curious....

Haha, yea, I didnt notice the missing spring because from the other side, everything looks perfectly fine.

I never took off the presure plate and inspected the clutch, I was told to replace the throwout bearing, and also didnt have a clutch alignment tool to put it all back toegether... So just decided to call it good...

Big mistake...

From now on, its in depth inspections every time...
