Default My Vtec crapped on me

I have b16a with obd0 and my vtech wont engage now. It usually came in about 5.2 and now all it does is make the exhaust note change. No powerband what so ever. Time for a new selenoid? Any comments.

Thanks

Try a new cord... Usually that works for me when my 'vtech' craps out on me...:chuckles:

... ....... .... I dont even want to go there...

" VTEC " -Variable-Timing & lift, Electronically Controlled: This is Honda's term for their technology that adjusts the amount that intake/exhaust valves are opened based on the current engine speed.

If it sounds different, then it is working......

Sounds to me like your timing might be off, or your distributor is "crapping" out.

Thanks I guess but I didnt know me saying "crapping out" was such a problem. And the phone crap, I'm sorry i knew that but I just mispelled it thanbk you for your two cents. I took it to redline performance in arlington,tx and he checked it with a timing light and he checked my aem cam gears to make sure they were set right. I just dont know but whatever

Any CELs, does the speedometer work, and is the engine warmed up? Are you sure you hear it kicking in?

No check engine light, speedo works good, oil levels fine and it's definetly warmed up. My friends got a rex just like mine but with a 1st gen b16 and his vtec is just freaking insane when it kicks in and you can feel it but mine just makes the sound. No one I know around here knows, they say just replace the noid.

You better find out if it is kicking in or not. You can here it but you cant feel it? Did you isntall anything right before it stopped working? Just check everything - Oil level, no cel's, make sure cel is working, make sure the solonoid is getting power. Supply power to the solonoid and see if it is functioning properly.
