Default Replacing rear trailing arm bushings

I replaced my shocks (with Tokico blues).

When I was doing the rear shocks, I inspected all the bushings and the rear trailing arm bushings are toast (all the other bushing look good).

Does anyone know where I can rent this tool (http://shoptoolsshoptools.com/shopexd.asp?id=2784)?

Hopefully, in the SF bay area or via the mail.

Tool link doesn't work.

What does the tool do? I am interested in how this is done because mine need changing desperately.

(I don't know what happened with the link. It stopped working for me also. Probably just the way the site is coded.)

http://shoptoolsshoptools.com
-click "search" in the orange toolbar (3rd from the left)
-enter "SCH65100" into keyword field
-hit enter key

u had the ")?" too close to the URL so the forum code thought it was part of the link...

$169 seems a little much for pushing out some bushings. You might try a local shop with a hydraulic press. I haven't done my rear bushings yet but I took my all of my front parts to work and pressed out all of the old bushings in less than 20 minutes.

You don't need that tool or a press. Unbolt the front of the arm, jam a peice of 4x4 between the arm and the body to hold it down and wack it with a BFH. Reinstall the same way. It will help to leave the bushings in the freezer for and hour or two.

Default Replacing rear trailing arm bushings

The BigHammer method might not work for me. (see attached picture of my rear trailing arm bushing)

It looks like the big hammer would just punch out the center of the bushing rather than remove the entire bushing.

I have also seen people burn out the old bushing with a torch. If all else fails, that is probably the best way to do it.

I have that same problem. One person told me just to buy another trail arm from pick N pull. But you know how F&%!ing hard it is to find a CRX in a Pick N Pull... Thats decent? I would have better luck trying to teach a retard to read.

Why would the bushing in the arm out of a "pick and pull" be any better?
