Not worth the trouble converting from cable to hydro... Specially for a CX tranny... If you want long gearing (more for economy) buy a DX or HF cable tranny, it will swap right in... If u want more performance get a 88-91 Civic/CRX Si tranny (but being a D16 I assume u already have one)...

I'm not sure whats all going on I got the car for 500 bucks and I'm still trying to sort out whats what . I know the tranny is going and i found the cx tranny and clutch for 70 with a 100,000 mi so i think it's a good deal . I'm still kinda new at this import deal. I just switched from domestic to import about 4 mounths ago so any advise I can get I think will help.

Well, unless you can custom fab things yourself, it would cost you more to make this tranny work than to just buy the right tranny and clutch kit... Im pretty sure the mount locations are different, and then youd have to figure out a way to make the clutch pedal engage the clutch... And on top of that, the CX tranny is the bottom of the barrel of the 5th gens, and is the same unit as the VX (has VTEC-E for economy), so its geared more for economy than performance...

What I here is one guy saying it's crap then the other guyt saying the gearing is crazy awesome . As far as the pedal engaging the clutch i found a shop to install the hydro kit for 200. The only thing I was worried about was the axles thanxs for the info!!!
