OEM batteries weigh more like 50lbs.

The last time I weighed a battery, it was stock size for a 92-95 Civic... around 27 pounds. I used one to replace the bigass battery that was in my '7, which was 38 pounds. I seriously doubt the stock EF battery could weigh 50 pounds.

Rotating mass (wheels, tires, flywheel) has much more effect on acceleration that static mass (seats, interior).

Removing 1 pound of rotating mass = 3 pounds of static mass for acceleration.

Braking and cornering benefit equally from removing static or rotating mass.

Damn... Well I'd better him the gym . OEM batteries feel considerably heavy every time I pick them up. I hate em. Even the little Autozone battery I bought for my crx feels like 30-40lbs. I guess I did overestimate a bit there. My old sentra had a HEAVY ass battery though.
