im buying a Crx Si and im thinking about an engine swap and going nuts on it, i have the money but i was looking for sugestions on what kind of motor i should swap and the reasons why and the approximate cost of it. again, im going to go nuts on what ever i throw in this thing so i'm looking for the best engine to work with and an engine i can go nuts with. If u go b18c5, you're about 20hp shy of you're 220hp+ goal. Unfortunately, it will cost $5k+ to install a b18c5 into your car. Hmotorsonline sells them for $4400+$300 for the motor mounts+$429 for the hydraulic to cable tranny conversion kit. Not to mention all the wiring u have to do, which could run another $1k depending where u live... Oh, and installation if u don't know how to do it. A b16a would only have 40hp less than a b18c5, and cost around $2k+installation. Much easier swap, cheaper, and still fun. Go for the b16a and u won't be disappointed. Stay away from frankenstein swaps(this includes b20/vtec, and lsvtec), unless u really know what you're doing, or your tuner knows what he/she is doing. They're unreliable unless done right.
