The PR3 ECU with not work without being modified... The PR3 ECU runs the OBD0 B16A which has VTEC yes, but the problem however is that the B16A has two O2 Sensors and a knock sensor... Neither of which are on the SOHC VTEC engines... So unless u modify it in someway (getting it chipped to ignore those 2 sensors), you will get a check engine light... Which means no VTEC for joo... Not too mention the cost of buying a PR3 and paying to get chipped vs the cost of a P28 or P08 and running it CORRECTLY are about the same...

Youd probably better off, that 3 stage VTEC is better off in an OBD2 car who dosnt need to convert OBD types... And just plug in the proper OBD2 ECU to make it work... But with the Y8 youll still have the same things to worry about, minus the 3 stage VTEC...

Well its easier to convert an OBD0 car to OBD1 than it is to conver to OBD2... So I would use the P28 and convert to OBD1...
