Default Anyone done crx d16a6 w/ d16y8 vtec head?

i was wondering if anyone has put a 96-00 d16y8 vtec head on a crx si d16a6 block. the reason i ask is because i did the compression ratio calculations and have found that it creates a 10.5:1 compression with that particular set up. and i know that adding vtec usually adds about 20 hp but with a high compression i would think u`d get EVEN MORE power. ANYONE KNOW?????

yeah i figured i would come to at least 127 hp because thats what the d16y8 has stock but that is also on with 9.1:1 compression ratio. so with 10.5:1 ( a whole point and a half) more i would figure more but its all theory till i hear from someone thats done it

yes it does give you more power but not that much. I did that mini swap. with the d16a6 I dyno that and it give me around 100 hp. with the d16y8 head with a p28 ecu. I got about 135 hp. not bad for a mini swap.

135 to the wheels? thats about what i was hoping for. you said you used a p28 ecu right? well if use that ecu and not use a vtec harness but instead use a rpm switch and relay setup will the computer tell the injectors to still send more fuel when the vtec is supposed to be activated?
