Since this thread just popped up again:

I was refering to the late 80's, early '90 Camaro eight cylinder RS. These can be had for cheaper then a CRX.

first of all a rs camaro wont be able to touch a b16 crx. b16 in a crx is a really good and common set up. dude do realize that you are on a honda forum you arent going to get anywhere with your domestic bs. i would take a crx any day over an rs now offer me an ss then maybe we will talk. the crx handle's better its quicker. and the si could beat an rs.

Best bang for the buck for a 2nd gen/4th gen Civic/Crx is gonna be:

DOHC Zc - basically a twin cam d series motor, drops right in,bolts right up,hardly and wiring issues, essentially nothing needed. about 130-140hp
b16a1 - gonna need mounts and rewiring for vtec, about 160-170hp
b18b - mounts and rewiring , good for future boost project. about 140hp

It all depends on what you want out of the car,how much you have to fund the project and how much time you want to spend on it.

It's a matter of opinion, not a matter of fact. I still say ZC's are garbage. It's an easy drop in and offers a few more ponies than a D16Z6 or any other SOHC D-series, but why bother? Might be nice for putting around town but a stock ZC is still slow in anything it's put into.
