Type R Final Drive? How good are they?
Well, I was thinking of how to get up and go in my car a lil faster. I would like to put a Phantom Grip LSD in my car, but also I want the Type-R Final drive in my car, I hear that they are really good and get the car up quick. Has anyone installed one themselves? How much better does it make the car get up and go? What else could I do to the tranny to make it rock solid and make it better?

In order to use an ITR FD, you'll need a GSR or ITR differential. Another option is to get an aftermarket unit (Quaife) for GSR/ITR and use the FD with it.

When I rode in my buddy's EG/B18C, I kept yelling Shift! Shift! Because 4k was rediculous to be cruising in a healthy car, in 5th, at normal highway speeds. A 4.7 final would only make that worse, along with decreasing gas milage and engine life.

B series love to rev, and I wouldn't worry too much about mileage in a sub 2.0 N/A engine.

You think I'll get 150k out of it? That's not bad at all. It's got like 50k now and it doesn't burn a drop and I drive it really hard all the time.
I'll just get a new longblock for $600 and slap it in there. :dunno:
I get like 27 maybe?

I thought I had a 4.4 final in my b16 swap. I got a JDM S1 so it should have one, but when I got my car running a few weeks ago I noticed that at 65mph I'm at 4k and it's ridiculos(sp?). Some people I talked to said it's a fairly common mod in Japan to put the ITR final in a tranny so it might have one. If it doesn't I could only imagine what one would do. Oh yea, I'm running 205/45/16 tires.
