I have a 4 door civic lx or dx and swapped a 91 Civic SI Engine And Transmission in place of the old motor however now the car always wants to rev while in gear and at first start up I have to leave in neutral and hold the gas down a partial throttle for a few minutes before the car will idle by itself.

I don't know what to do ideas?

Check the fast idle thermo valve. It's a very common part that goes among all Hondas.

had this issue once, ended up being an unhooked vaccuum line after swap.

Werd. Check your coolant level and the idle air control valve if the fast idle thermo valve test ok.
