Default does this sound legit?

planning on turboing my b16. i went around looking for shops that could work the bottom end (pistons rod, balancing, maybe sleeved, etc.)
i found one but they estimated from 5-7000 bucks. i was shocked.
i could buy another engine for that. that blew my budget way out the water.
it just doesn't sound right.

what do you think?

ps. that price was just the block work, no head work, no disassembly

Huge rip-off. You can buy an insane, pre-built CRX for that much money.

Get another opinion.

If you really are on a budget, I suggest you pick up a Helms manual and a set of tools and figure out how to do it yourself.

doing engine work is not a walk in the park that anyone can do - some small mistakes can make a major problem

shop around for other prices - even if they aren't local

if you feel like you can do it then give it a try
