i went to the junkyard 2 days ago and there was an integra that he sold the motor out of. (it was a gsr) and we asked if he had anymore gsr motors. he said no, but he does have a type r motor with a smashed block (from accident) but the head was mint. so me and a friend walk over to see this interestingly enough, b18c1. i tryed hard not to laugh because this was definetly not a type r motor.

just thought i'd share.

I hate to say it, buy he was probably BS'ing you into buying a JDM engine from him. The only real difference is the compression ratio, 10.6:1 in the JDM engines and 10.0:1 in the USDM versions. Not enough to say the USDM "sucks." I'll ask one more time: do you have a GOOD reason for disliking the B18C1? I just don't understand.

Yeah, I bet you were street racing, too. That does not say much about the engines, either. To be perfectly fair, you would need identical cars, identical mods, and identical drivers. Yes, the JDM engined car would theoretically win, but not by enough to justify extra cost, especially if you plan on changing the pistons anyway (which should be on the list for any serious car builder). If you did both run the hypothetical perfect race, it would be pretty close. Beating another car by ten lengths means nothing unless you also state how long the race is. Gaining 10 car lengths in 1/8 mile means a lot more then 10 car lengths in 10 miles.

I give up, you obviously have no idea what you are talking about, nor the resources to back up your claims.
