Default 5 speed tranny swap

I was wondering if this tranny would fit in to my 4-speed civic, and if so would I notice a difference? I would still have the old shitty engine, so would it make any diff?

Is it hard t install a new tranny? What are the steps?

It's pretty time consuming but I don't think it's all that hard. It does of course require the right tools.

Are you saying you have one of the 4 speed manuals? If so I'd just keep that. I wanted one of those puppies back in the day just because it was so much different.

I don't think the 5 speed will make a huge performance difference.

If you do a lot of highway driving the 5-speed may be nice to keep the rpms down, but as far as performance difference, just save the time & money & wait until you can swap a dohc zc complete setup or soemthing like that. I've owned both the 4-speed manual hb & now the 5-speed dx hatch, and really, it's not TOO much difference.. still slow

I still use my 4 speed. nothing like high rpm driving on the freeway.

Original? It sucks and it was put there to save money. Who cares what's original, I want what gives the best performance.
